What does Rolls-Royce SMR want from the supply chain?
It wants to understand, match, develop and sustain the capability of the supply chain in line with the requirements of the business.
Rolls-Royce SMR has developed a Supplier Management System Requirements (SMSR) document which provides a standard set of requirements and processes to be applied between Rolls-Royce SMR and its supply chain.
The SMSR is based upon the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, NQA-1, IAEA GSR Part 2 & ASME. In addition, a new international standard (ISO 19443) has been released, along with certifying bodies that can audit companies against the standard and issue certification. Rolls-Royce SMR also assesses against any relevant regulatory technical assessment guides and includes industry best practice tools and techniques and provides the basis for Rolls-Royce SMR supplier approval. We will actively support and develop new entrants into the supply chain and deliver our sustainability goals.
The Rolls-Royce SMR supplier approval process is based on several assessments including Quality Management System, Manufacturing Capability and Planning and Control. These assessments will be conducted and will form part of the process of becoming an approved supplier to Rolls-Royce SMR.
